How to Use Rights Management
The 'Rights Management' is a feature that allows you to request rights for an Instagram photo/post by leaving a comment on the photo/post and awaiting the owner's approval before adding it to your Feed.
Here's how to use it...
1. To enable this, you'll need to purchase this add-on first.
2. Install Curator Browser Extension
3. Navigate to Instagram and go to the specific post you’d like to request rights for.
( Note: Ensure you’re logged into the Instagram Business Account connected to Curator when using the extension.)
4. Click on the Curator Extension in your browser to open the Curator extension panel. You can find it in the top-right corner of Instagram.
5. Log in using your Curator account in the extension panel.
6. Choose the account ( with Rights Management enabled) that you want to use for requesting rights.
7. Set Up and Add Your Comment
- Review and modify the Default Message in the panel. You can set predefined messages here: Rights Messages.
- Include the Hashtag that Curator will use to track for approval.
- Use the Preview feature to check how your comment looks.
- Click Add Comment to post the comment on Instagram. (Please avoid modifying the hashtag on Instagram — the hashtag you set in the panel is what Curator monitors)
- Just a reminder: clicking Add Comment in the panel doesn’t actually post the comment — it only generates it. To publish your comment, go to the Instagram post and click Post on the one where you’d like to send the request.
8. After commenting:
- Return to the Curator extension and click Done
- Then select the Feed you wish to save the post to (once it's approved).
Key Features in the Curator Extension:
- Message: Predefined or customizable request messages.
- Hashtag: Curator monitors this hashtag, which the post owner can use to indicate approval for the usage of their post.
- From Account: Indicates the Instagram account you’re using.
- Preview Comment: This is simply a preview of your comment.
- Add Comment Button: This generates the comment into Instagram's comment section. While you can still customize your comment on Instagram, please omit the hashtag. As the defined hashtag in the panel is what Curator will be using as a reference for monitoring.
Important Notes:
1. Rights management currently only supports posts with images. Posts containing videos aren’t supported at this stage.
2. All recorded requests can be viewed and managed in your Curator Account: Manage Rights.
3. To ensure the approval of rights request is recognized and/or verified, the post owner must tag you in their post or your comment.
If the post owner only comments with the hashtag ( #approved) without tagging you, the system will not detect it as an approved or positive response.
