How to Use Rights Management
The 'Rights Management' is a feature that allows you to request rights for an Instagram photo/post by leaving a comment on the photo/post and awaiting the owner's approval before adding it to your Feed.
Here's how to use it...
- To enable this, you'll need to purchase this add-on first.
- Then Install Curator Browser Extension
- Navigate to Instagram OR go to the specific Instagram post you'd like to ask for permission to Curate.
( Note: Please make sure the Instagram account you're logged into when using the Extension is the Instagram Business account associated or connected to Curator.) - Click on the Curator Extension in your browser to launch the Curator extension panel. Here's a screenshot for your reference.
- Log in with your Curator account in the Curator extension panel.
- Next, choose the account you want to proceed with, and ensure it's the one with Rights Management enabled.
- You're now ready to proceed with setting up and adding a comment.
Let's take a look at the different comments/parts of the extension:

- Message: This contains the Default Message (or comment) that you may modify. You may also setup predefined messages at https://app.curator.io/curate/rights/messages
- Hashtag: Curator monitors this hashtag, which the post owner can use to indicate approval for the usage of their post.
- From Account: This serves as an indicator of the Instagram account you're using for your reference.
- Preview your comment: This is simply a preview of your comment.
- Add comment button: This generates the comment into Instagram's comment section. While you can still customize your comment on Instagram, please omit the hashtag. As the defined hashtag in the panel is what Curator will be using as a reference to determine if the owner has approved your request.
After adding the comment on Instagram, please make sure to return to the Curator extension and click 'Done' to record or save it to your account.

All recorded rights requests can be managed through your Curator Dashboard at https://app.curator.io/curate/rights.
