Unable to Add Instagram Personal Account Source
If you encounter any of this error below, while trying to add an Instagram Personal Account source:
- 'Unknown error - Application does not have permission for this action'
- 'There seems to be an issue with the permissions for this account. Please ensure that you have granted Curator the necessary access.'
The issue is likely due to a permission that was disabled or denied during the connection process. You need to enable the necessary permission (see image below), which allows Curator to pull posts from your account.
To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:
- Delete Connection: Delete your existing Instagram connection on your Curator account https://app.curator.io/company/connections.
- Remove Curator: On your Instagram account, revoke Curator's access as well. To do this, login to your Instagram account and then follow the steps below:
Please note: The exact wording and/or layout might slightly differ depending on the updates to Instagram's interface. If you don't find the options as described, look for similar terms or use Instagram's help center for the latest instructions. - Reconnect Curator: Then go back your Curator account and Re-add or reconnect the account.
Reminder: If you have other Curator accounts that are using the Instagram account you're reconnecting with the process above, please make sure to also reconnect that Instagram account to those Curator accounts as well.
If the problem persists, please contact us for further assistance, and we will help troubleshoot the issue.
