Organizing Feeds & Sources

Feed Content Moderation Basics

Moderation controls which posts appear in your feed. Set rules to automatically approve trusted content or manually review user-generated posts before they go live.

Auto-Approve vs. Manual Approval

When creating or editing a feed, choose your default post status:

  • Approved (auto-publish) — New posts from sources appear immediately in your feed and embed

  • Needs approval (manual review) — New posts stay hidden until you review and approve them in the Posts section

Use auto-approve for trusted sources like your brand's own accounts. Use manual approval for user-generated content (UGC) campaigns with hashtags to screen for inappropriate or off-brand posts.

Reviewing & Approving Posts

If you set posts to "Needs approval":

  1. Go to the Curator section in your dashboard

  2. Filter by Needs Approval

  3. Review each post

  4. Click Approve to publish or Reject to hide them publicly

Approved posts appear in your feed immediately. Rejected posts won't display but remain in your dashboard for reference.

Pre-setup Rules

Curator includes pre-setup rules to help moderate content:

  • Profanity filter — Automatically flags or hides posts containing profane language

  • Duplicate detection — Automatically rejects posts with duplicate captions, keeping only one to prevent repetitive content.

You can create your own custom filters to help moderate your content under Curate > Rules.

Rules don’t affect your source or control which posts are pulled into your feed. They’re only used to moderate the content that appears on your feed.

Manual Post Management

You can also manage individual posts after they're approved:

  • Pin posts — Keep important posts at the top of your feed

  • Edit posts — Change captions or remove tagged users. Do not apply to certain posts due to stricter platform policies, such as YouTube, TikTok, and X/Twitter posts.

  • Reject posts — Hide posts publicly without deleting them

Editing a post in Curator doesn't change the original on the social platform—only how it appears in your feed.

Best Practices

  • Review UGC daily during active campaigns

  • Set clear campaign hashtags and guidelines to reduce inappropriate submissions

  • Use auto-approve for brand accounts to save time on moderation

  • Enable profanity filters for public-facing feeds
