Instagram Hashtag "Order by" Setting
When adding an Instagram Hashtag source, you can choose how Instagram selects the posts to pull using the "Order by" setting.
Order by Options
Most Recent (default) pulls posts published within Instagram's 24-hour window. This gives you the latest posts using your hashtag.
Top Posts are not limited by time. Instagram's algorithm selects these posts based on engagement and/or relevance. You can see an example of Top Posts on any hashtag page, like instagram.com/explore/tags/fish.
Adding the Same Hashtag Twice
You can add the same hashtag multiple times as long as each uses a different "Order by" setting. For example, one source set to Most Recent and another set to Top Posts.
Running both together gives you better coverage on posts to pull going forward.
You cannot add the same hashtag with the same "Order by" setting twice.
The number of posts that can be pulled is limited to approximately 20, both when the source is first added and during subsequent refreshes.
