Connecting Social Accounts

Other Instagram-Related Common Concerns

Source connection issues prevent Curator from pulling content. Most problems stem from authorization errors, or account mismatches. Below are other common hiccups:

Instagram Business Account Not Working

Problem: For Hashtag, Mentions, Tagged & Collab, and Stories Source: If your Instagram Business account is already linked to a Facebook Page but, you may be experiencing a known issue on Facebook’s platform where the Instagram Business account does not appear, even though it is already properly associated with a Facebook Page.

Solution: Meta has recommended the following steps that would help resolve the issue:

  1. Using the Instagram App or Instagram.com - switch the Instagram Business account back to Personal Instagram account. Here's Meta's guide

  2. Then convert or switch back to Instagram Business Account (see instructions here)

  3. Add the connection again in your Curator account or here https://app.curator.io/company/connections

"No Instagram Businesss" or "Please check the Connection for Facebook.." Errors

Problem: The account may have been revoked due to recent changes, it may not have an associated Instagram Business account, or the Instagram Business account may not have been selected during the connection process.

Solutions:

  • Revoke the existing connection (Settings > Social Connections) and reconnect. Make sure you're logged in to the same Facebook account you are reconnecting.

Instagram accounts must be linked to a Facebook page. Since Instagram is owned by Meta, any connection to an Instagram Business account must go through a Facebook account that is an administrator of the linked Facebook Page. This means, you'll authorize Curator using your personal Facebook account.

  • Ensure that all Instagram accounts and their associated Facebook pages are selected in the connection process.

  • Check that all permissions are enabled.

If both your Facebook and Instagram accounts are connected in Social Connections, reconnect both accounts when you reconnect one.

Instagram Source Pulling Only 25 posts

Problem: Feed shows far fewer posts than expected.

Reason:

  • Due to recent API changes, this is no longer possible for particular sources.

  • The limit of 25 posts helps reduce strain on our servers, especially for Sources or hashtags with thousands of posts.

  • Sources will refresh regularly, pulling up to 20-25 of the most recent posts each time, keeping your feed updated with the latest content.

If you're using Facebook Page, Instagram Account, or Flickr Album sources and are on a paid plan, you can email us at [email protected]. Curator team can manually attempt to load those other or older posts that weren't pulled due to the initial cap.

Connection Expired

Problem: Source stopped updating; dashboard shows "Connection expired."

Solution: Social platforms require periodic re-authorization. Go to Social Connections, find the expired connection, and click Reconnect. Make sure you're logged in to the same Instagram account you are reconnecting.

Facebook & Instagram only: If both accounts are connected in Social Connections, reconnect both when reconnecting one.
