Understanding Rights Requests
Rights Management lets you request legal permission from content creators before using their user-generated content (UGC) on your website or displays.
When you find Instagram posts you want to feature, you need the creator's explicit consent. Rights Management handles this by sending a permission request directly on Instagram, tracking responses, and automatically adding approved content to your feed.
When you need rights
You need permission when embedding content you don't own—typically user-generated posts from Instagram. This protects you from copyright claims and ensures creators consent to how their content is used.
Rights Management is a paid add-on available on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.
How it works
The workflow is simple:
You'll need to purchase this add-on first.
Make sure you’re logged in to the Instagram Business account connected to Curator. If you're not sure how you can check this and connect your Instagram Business account.
Find and open the Instagram post you’d like to use.
Install and open the Curator Chrome Extension
Log in to the extension using your Curator account and proceed with setting up the request on the Curator extension.
Click Add comment when ready and Done to record the request to your account.
Once the creator approves by tagging your Instagram account and including your approval hashtag
Curator detects the approval and adds the post to your feed
All requests and approvals are tracked in your Rights Management dashboard or at app.curator.io/curate/rights.
What's covered
Rights Management currently works with Instagram Business accounts for image posts only. Video posts and other social networks aren't supported.
