Rights Management

Requirements & Limitations

Rights Management has specific requirements and limitations you should understand before requesting permissions from content creators.

Before you begin: You'll need the Rights Management add-on, an Instagram Business account linked to Curator, and the Chrome browser.

Instagram requirements

Rights Management only works with Instagram Business accounts. You must:

  • Have an Instagram Business account (not personal or creator accounts)

  • Link that account to your Curator dashboard

  • Navigate to Social Connections page and connect your Instagram Business Account

  • Be logged into that account when sending requests

The content creator can have any account type—only your account needs to be a Business account.

Content limitations

You can only request rights for image posts. Video posts are not supported.

Rights Management works exclusively with Instagram. Other social networks like TikTok, Facebook, or X/Twitter don't support this feature.

Browser requirement

The Curator Chrome Browser Extension is mandatory for sending rights requests. You must use Google Chrome—other browsers (Firefox, Safari, Edge) may not be supported.

You cannot send rights requests directly from the Curator dashboard. The Chrome extension is the only way to submit requests.

Approval process

Approvals require specific formatting. The creator must:

  • Reply to your request comment

  • Tag your Instagram account (e.g., @YourAccount)

  • Include your monitoring hashtag (e.g., #approved)

A simple reply like "#approved" without the tag may not be detected. Both elements are required for Curator to recognize the approval.

Manual posting step

The extension generates the permission request comment for you. However, you’ll still need to manually post the comment on Instagram. the extension does not automatically publish comments on your behalf.
